My site hasn't been listed on Google yet

A site I have just completed has not been listed in google yet and it has been over a week. The site is http://freewordpressinstalls.com and we offer free wordpress installations in return for the user signing up to one of our affiliate hosting partners.
Every other site I have set up was listed within a couple of days. Even when I type http://freewordpressinstalls.com into the search engine nothing comes up.

So my question is why hasn't it shown up? I have mentioned the word free a hell of a lot on the site. Could google think that it is dodgy?
Also, could it just be that it is an affiliate site?

I have submitted site maps and the site url to google but still nothing.

Several things you have done wrong include:
Free - as you said, that is one word Google deprecates
You have violated the Wordpress trademark (I did the same a couple of years ago) by including it as part of your url.
If your site ever gets popular, Wordpress could force you to give the domain to them for free (and pay their lawyers fees)

That is not why Google haven't found you yet.
Have you actually told them you have arrived?
Has your WP dashboard, settings, privacy button been set for search engines to find you?
In WP dashboard, settings, writing have you added a list of urls to ping (broadcast to let them know each time you post something new)?
    The list I use is:

Check the AWstats on the cpanel of your hosting account - and you should soon see when and how often Google crawl your site.
If they have crawled, but you are not getting anywhere - you need to check your site content and keywords are things that might make Google want to do something for you.
Finally if Google still don't crawl you - get a friend with an indexed site to add a backlink to your site for you.

Steve has some good points. To add to them I would suggest renewing your domain as it looks like you have only registered it for one year. Your site is pretty new so Google may think it is a throwaway domain. Your site took a long time to load for me. Google prefers quicker sites so as you don't have Gzip enabled on your server I would suggest you do. There are very few links pointing to your site so I would suggest getting a few. I find my link in the digitalpoint post signature takes about 3-4 weeks to get picked up by the Google bot so maybe in a couple of weeks you will be indexed (if you do nothing).

I have read on this site that if you mix Google Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics and affiliate links you will have problems. I am not sure if that is true though.

    Good luck.

Well, I wish I knew that before I got the domain.

Thanks for the pointers. On a side note, Bing and Yahoo have indexed the site.

What you say is true, but I doubt wordpress would bother taking legal action.
Get some other people to link your site, from other wordpress related sites, and you will get better cache results.

sometimes patience is just needed, have you signed into google webmasters where you can see exactly what pages have been submitted and what pages are indexed and also if your site maps are functioning correctly

The site will eventually get indexed, it's just a matter of waiting for that time to come. Google crawls every website on the internet, but sometimes it can take upto about a month for Google to start indexing brand new sites which haven't had any SEO done to them. So work on some SEO, build up some decent, high quality links, and Google will find you a lot quicker. You already have 1 decent link as you've posted it here, and I can imagine that this forum is a goldmine for Google links considering this site is so active and popular, and has users from all around the World.

But yes, as earlier said, you have violated Wordpress trademark by using their name in your domain, so I'd advise you to buy a new domain quickly which doesn't include their name. You don't want to build a very popular, well known site, then have all your hard work ruined because your domain was taken away from you.

Update contents regularly and wait for some time, nothing to worry about.

I think it is indexed or may be i am looking at the wrong stuff. Try running a google search using the following site:freewordpressinstalls.com. Once i do that I see that your page has been found by Google.

I wouldn't worry about this so soon. It can take up to a month to appear in Google - sometimes even longer. Some tips to get there quicker include:
    • Sign up to webmaster tools and submit an xml sitemap
    • Gain links back from other sites
Its also worth noting that fresh content makes Google come back more often (once the site has been found by Google first time around).
