hi everyone, i recently created an online forum .. heres the link www.psuforums.com well right now i'm in the process of getting members to join, i have 80 so far, anyway i get about 500 page loads a day, and maybe 130 average unique visitors, i have been using google adsense, but i don't make jack sh*t on that so far, i'm not expecting to make a lot of money with numbers like that, but i intend to get a LOT more members, and i have planned to host private ads when that happens. but for now, does anyone have any suggestions about what else i could do?
i'll have to google rocketpocket .. haven't heard of that .. how does that work? i know that by having a forum the only way i am ever going to make any real money is to go by number of views .. b/c i don't expect ppl to clikc frantically, but if i could get like 100000 views a day .. i would have some pull as far as charging private advertisers
yes thats right what i meant is that i suggest you a ppc program like google adsense which is auto tuned on your content and a affiliation directory like rocketprofit in which you can find nice offers that you can tailor on your audience to monetize it..
right now i get about 500 pageloads .. thats nothin .. what could i expect with say 1000 or 500 views a day
well i just put up adbrite .. i like adbrite a little better because i can pick what ads i want to display .. with google i'm gettin boring ads that no one is gunna clikc on .. we'll see how adbrite does
at the moment i run www.xperthackerz.com i have 400-500 uniques daily...and revenue i get by adbrite in a day is 0.20$ but i will stick to it as most of the DP members told me to do so and i reccomend it to you too
wow only .20 cents a day .. is that from clicks? if you have 500 uniques a day .. u must have what .. like 10k pageloads a day?
you must have a great site to generate a lot of hits... i hope you can find the right ads for your site so you can maximize your income... good luck. as for me... im still checking if adsense will work to my advantage.
to me .. adsense was cool .. but i would never get hits because i had boring advertisements .. like clothing shops and places like collegeboard.com, now i just put up 2 adbrite ads and i like them a lot better, i put in the keywords xbox, concerts, and football, and i feel like the ads that are running now have a much better chance of being clikced on by college students. Another thing i like about adbrite is how it will make certain words an advertisemtn .. i feel like that will generate a decent amount of clikcs. As for full page ads, i feel like i would just be bombarding my users with advertisements if i did that, and i don't want to do that right now and to vishallad, i see that your forum has about 650+ members, i was wondering what type of pageloads you get in a day? and also .. how long did it take for your forum to get taht big? yesterday i got 867 hits and didnt make a dime with adsense, today i'll have adbrite up all day so i'll see what happens
I've got quite a good resource on my site that goes into how to make sure your AdSense ads are actually much better targeted (lol - shameless plug) but actually it's quite interesting and very easy to do! But what I really meant to say before reading the above is that I really do think now is the time to start branching away from the tried, tested (but possibly slightly tired) AdSense format. Sure - it still works, and it'd still be foolish not to at least try including in your forum. But I also think it would really be wise to start investigating other programs, too. Try out a whole selection - why not? It's always a very good idea to have some kind of AdSense back-up.... Good luck with your marketing - hope it goes really well for you!
well adnewbie .. i'm really looking forward to gettin private advertisers to advertise on my site, that would be awesome but what other alternatives do i have besides adsense.. i'm using adbrite now .. i'm gunna see how that does .. but what else would u suggest?
Try Adsdaq - I think it's the best solution for you. They pay on a purely CPM basis and you can set your own rates to what you feel is acceptable. The catch is that some of your inventory goes unsold, but you can redirect that to other networks. Here's a more detailed Adsdaq review.
