My site has gone out of validation

    Try revalidating it a couple times.. there is a bug in the Google API that does this sometimes.

    I can ping the validate.digitalpoint.com from that machine and it resolves the IP address.

    Check your ad_network_ads.txt file... in the first part of it, it should have the validation server IP address (the numeric one). If it's the host name (not the numbers), then PHP isn't resolving the IP address on that server (for whatever reason).
