My site has gone AFK.

My new blog, sitefiend.com, which only had a few links, has now completely disappeared from the google index. No homepage..nothing. This has only happened in the last couple of days, and all I did was submit the homepage and rss feed of the site to various blog news services, directories etc 2 days ago. I doubt whether its any sort of punishment for generating too many links too quickly..the response is far too fast, and I only submitted the site to 50 sites or so.

Anyone had there site dropped the last couple of days? Hoping its a minor hiccup.

How bizarre. After investigation, I realised I had uploaded an old sitemap.xml file and the google spider had found a bunch of 404 errors (because the blog moved from the root to /blog/) I just regenerated the file with a wordpress plugin, resubmitted it in the google sitemap admin area, and low and behold....the site is showing again..lol...all within 5 minutes.

I must be going mad...ah well all is well again.

I think that it's not a punishment. Same thing happend to me couple times, always with new sites. It should be back in Google in next couple days.

I think google quite often gets hiccups in there index. Im not sure what you could do Adsenser, other than file a reinclusion request..thats about the only option I know. I have successfully done that before for leetlinks.com, which im pretty sure wasnt being spidered because of the misdeeds of the previous domain owner. I found that out looking at archive.org and checking out some extremely spammy link pages.

But that site is all good now, as is sitefiend.com

Id say if it continues for a week, then definately file a reinclusion request. Dont expect any action on it though for 2 weeks at least...and make sure your thorough in your explanation for why it should be relisted..you havent broken the rules etc..
