With that type of leverage/clout in your niche you should reach out to sites that are in a similar niche and/or trying to sell a product that works well within your niche. If the affiliate thing doesn't work out for them you could always contact them personally for direct advertising and make a big score.

Well the site is making some money, I should have clarified that early, but I don't feel it's making enough money since it's relying on CPM banner ads. Adsense/YPN don't really bring in much revenue since the users are tech savvy and know to avoid the ads.

We've tried to put in affiliate offers, but people avoid the Amazon product links unless they're placed within the text, which degrades the user experience.

Thanks for the tip, but what kind of coverage are you thinking about banners? Text links?

I'm aware of this trick, but putting ads in like that lower the user experience, which is something I'm against. Also, tech savvy users tend to avoid text ads since they can identify them. :(

put adsense before and after the content so it is not obstrusive.

Dont put anything in the middle of the content.

one block before content and one block at the end of content.

I tend to disagree, based on this: PEOPLE LOOK FOR THE CONTENT.

If you look at any of the top bloggers, they usually have one big banner right in the middle of their post. Why? Because that's where your readers' eyes are looking.

I would recommend looking at some other blogs to see what they are doing:

    http://www.johnchow.com
    http://www.shoemoney.com
    http://thesugarbuzzproject.net
    http://www.problogger.com

Just a couple. Also, the methods I talked about earlier (kontera, etc.) are pretty much niche-independant, so you can use them regardless of your niche. The people who are worried about keeping inside a specific niche are generally targeting ONE stream of readers only. There's nothing wrong with this, but if you focus on one thing and one thing only, you are limiting yourself. And with monitization options, you limit yourself pretty much to CPA ads that fit a niche.

I find it hard to believe your website pulls that many visitors and you ask such a question.

    Hi there,

I think that creation of advertising space for sites within the same niche as you would be a great way to generate income with a site with that much traffic.

You could easily be asking $xxx per month for banner space if you can find the buyers.

Well, for someone who didn't get into the game with marketing in mind, but rather to run a good site, it's possible. :p

Try getting into blogads.com they go by page views over UV's so it'll certainly make it more attractive to advertisers. Its not exactly easy to get into blogads right now, but if you can it'll be good. Generally a site like that would warrent $45/week for ads of which you get 70% of that so that is around $31/week but people actually need to buy the ad for the site. There could be months where you get nothing and weeks you get 5-10 ads. It just depends on the niche. Blogads is used by big sites like perez hilton and the icanhas tree of nuts. Good luck!

Since you are getting so much traffic (congrats btw), you can try using adsense. That can bring you good amount of money.

Why not just start email some companies that you think will be interessed and make like a promotion for the first month just for they try. And the next month if they like just increase the amount. Like: First Month - 25$, after that 50$/month.
