I lost one of mine for two weeks. Came back. The only thing I did after I lost it was submit a sitemap. It has happened to me 2 times before but the last disappearance was the longest. Luckily, over half my traffic is Yahoo and Live so I felt a bit insulated from Google. But it is gut wrenching. Hang in there for a couple of weeks.

Isn't it crazy? So many people's livlihood rely on what is a secret and fickle algorithm! But you're right... just like it would be dumb to be in the stock market with just one stock, you should diversify away this risk by owning multiple sites and not employing identical tactics on all of them. That being said, I'm right there with you with just one site!

I was at a conference once and a spokesperson from google said sometimes when they update their algorithms there a small percentage of sites that fall on the borderline of "being indexed" or "out of index".

Some of the sites that accidentally fall out might have done nothing wrong. According to them its just tough luck.

....thats just so reassuring isnt it...?

You should wait a little longer, it can be months before a new site is indexed

I'm in the same situation guys :(
Got a fairly new site (3 weeks old) that was ranking within the top 3 pages for several niche keywords.
The site was making me high $xx per day but yesterday the site seems to be vanished from G.

I didn't buy text links or other stuff. Just submit and wait.

The site isn't banned from Google but I just lost it's rankings (90% of my traffic and income)

So I guess this has something to do with the pagerank update??
I hope it will be back on track pretty soon because it's losing me money :)

My friend experienced it before. He asked for the google experts saying that it will appear again. Maybe there are some site under moderation.

2-3 weeks of a site being up then disappearing...I'd say thats fine. It does take time to get indexed and if you actually ranked top 5 in google for your keywords I'd say you got very lucky and plus its during a time when google is playing around with their update.

For me to have a site up over 18 months then disappear, thats different. And no....during the 2 weeks of disappearing it hasnt flunctuated or come back into Google's SERPs.

I just hope everyone is right. That it will come back. Not looking good at the moment.

I dont know why you all tell him that the site will come back, thats very far from sure.
What you have to do is to work on the onsite SEO and inlinks. Get rid of any bad outlinks or other black hat tactics.

I dont think you are doing yourself any favours pointing hundreds of links to a site that isnt even 14 days old!
