My site dropped a lot in Google SERPS

I lost a lot of my serps a few days ago and I have no clue why this is so. My Google traffic dropped about 80% because of this. I have been looking at my logs lately and I have been spotting these Google IP addresses 66.249.84.14 / 66.249.85.88 which seems not to be a crawler. It seems like Google is manually checking my site. I wish I could contact them to find out what is wrong or at least get a clue from them why this is happening.

I know Google dance is going on right now but I have never been hit this hard.

    Can anyone help me out?
Anyone else lost a lot of traffic lately?

I lost 75% of traffic to one of my larger sites in early Feb. No idea why. I've continued adding good links since and still no recovery.

Well, drops in rankings and those of the traffic are two different things. If you notice drops in rankings and it remains the same for a long time try boosting your site's links numbers but drops in traffic could be due to market conditions sometimes.

    Hello...

Actually im different for some reason as the last few days the ranking where within 1-2 pages
and constanly changing and now to my surprise they are higher then ever for a few main keywords
in which i really havent done much to the site... no clue what the deal is

Try waiting a couple of days to see if it's still like that or if it stabilizes.

My niche competition went from 70,000,000 to 200,000,000 and I fell from ranking at 15 to ranking at 53. This kinda sucks as I just made a video for my site showcasing this #15 ranking a few days before the big dance started.

drop in ranking may be due to drop in your site traffic. my site ranking suddenly dropped when my site traffic dropped.

Drops in Google traffic always seem to come randomly for me then suddenly traffic returns.

I see this quite regularly ( every couple of months ) usualy though traffic has recovered, but i got hit back in early Feb and it totaly destroyed traffic to a site ive been working on for over 2 years.

So far ive not seen any sign of recovery, so im just plodding on adding new content etc and hopeing

Many websites target the same keywords as you do. If these other websites have better content and better links than your site then these sites get better rankings.

It happens almost to everyone. I had an average of 14K impressions 1st week of March, went down to 1K/ day, and now I'm working hard to go up again.
