Luke, I don't think anyone, who is a member of the coop, does not believe your/his exclusion is not having a profound effect on your rankings. Here is the thing though...mistake is not the right word to use. The more you or Fira use words that do not accurately describe what was done, the worse your/his situation gets. He/your company, did not simply rip off RB or Shawn, you stole and mislead the entire network. Pretty simple.

Well, it never actually got that far because the ads were never approved.

You cannot account one persons actions for an entire company, Fira was using his time to gain higher rankings legitimatly, boosting your network in his time, as part of the community.
Its somewhat unnerving that you will now punish him for this persons actions and almost slander him, I believe you should all think about how much you know this person and what they have literally done for Digitalpoint before you make accusations and assumptions.

Well I have to go, I hope it all works out well, I'm sure you guys can make your decisions without me getting involved!

Even assuming that it wasn't the same person (even though the evidence does look that way to me), they *did* know about what was going on. That in itself seems to warrant some sort of punishment (maybe not the right word, but you know what I mean). But then again, I really can't pass judgment even if it was the same person, because to be honest, I probably would have done the same thing, so...

Also, the fact that someone (Luke) stepped forward to actually corroborate his story makes it a *little* better in my mind (Luke is not someone that magically registered today... they signed up for the forum in March... the first month it was up).

What do the network members think of a temporary ban on the "legit" site? For example 1 month ban from the time it happened. Then they get dinged for trying to beat the system (or at the very least not reporting someone that was trying to beat the system when they knew about it).

    Or open to whatever ideas/thoughts.

They apparently have a rather large site. Instead of banning them what about reducing their weight substantially by X% and increasing it over time until it's back to normal? That way they would be penilized but other network members would receive the benefit of having their ads posted on their site. Kind of like payback.

I'm prepared to leave the adds in place until back into the network. It's a pain removing them to simply readd them....

Your adds have been on my sites since I've been banned.

Wasn't aware of that. Thought that if you were banned it went both ways and prevented the displaying of other memebrs ads also.

OK...Maybe I'm missing something? I went to what I think is the right site and browsed it. Couldn't find any coop ads any place. I know you can point your ads to a different site then the registered one but you have to display ads on the registered site, right? maybe I went to the wrong site??

Found them. :) At least least on most pages. Damned...paintball is expensive in the UK. I'd go broke if my son played there. Here it's only $8 (about 4.35GBP) for unlimited all day play incouding air/gas, equipment, etc. Only $5 if you have your own equipment. Paint is $70 (38 GBP) for 2000 paintballs.

I think it's all in perspective. When speaking about $/£ to a American I know he said people earn $2k a month on average for a half decent wage...

    I don't earn £2k a week (yet :))

Although I haven't played paintball in the states. And the pricing you see is CHEAP. You go down south or up north you can easily pay $16+ per 100 balls

I don't think I would consider $2k a month a decent wage over here. Without divulging confidential information all I can say is I don't drive a Hummer.......Yet. Hi Shawn. :)

I would do very well on $2k per week. I have only done that on a few occasions.
my goal is of course to do 1 mil per year.

    Okay,

I have read over everything and I still don't see any legitimate reason to keep this guy out of the network. There was nothing in the rules that said he couldn't do what happened. He found a bug. The bug is fixed... This is the type of person that will find all of the loopholes in a system like this.

I voted to keep you in.
I cannot even see reducing his weight. He is helping everyone else by having such a large website and you are getting you ads displayed on his pages for free thus improving your backlinks in google. I don't see the problem here.

I am willing to bet 500 other people in this network would have done the same thing if they would have thought about it first.

That is why Shawn is on top of things :)

Just for specific scenarios just like that.

    Let the guy back in.
If I read correctly, the ads hadn't even been approved yet so therefore there was no weight gained... is that correct?

So why would you reduce his weight when there was nothing gained in the first place because the ads weren't approved. If that is not the case and I read that incorrectly, then figure out how much weight was earned and reduce his weight by that much.

Problem solved. I saw the polls however, the guy didn't do anything wrong physically. Now Morally, sure but come on guys and ladies....

Ask yourself... How many of you would have did the same thing to gain more weight for your ads. Be honest..... (It is a rhetorical question).

And you keep saying that the rest of us are probably wishing we had thought of it? I'm sure anyone with half a brain knew you could do that, but knew it was wrong and that we probably couldn't get away with it. He didn't find any bugs...
