my server only support window which way is better?

i buy a vps on hyper-v.

should i setup centos on hyper-v ? or just use win2003 and setup iis ? or setup xampp(apache)?

but with iis, no rewrite, many php can not with it.

 

use cemtos uses less ram.. do u need a windows server ?

 

unless you need to run asp or run apps from the remote desktop, it is best to go for a linux server. Nothing better than centos. But you could try ubuntu as its easier to mnage.

Yes, If you properly setup everything. follow most common things.

* Smartly configure File permissions
* Use Alphanumeric Passwords
* Always keep your os Updated with latest Patches.

However, you don't know anything about Linux better hire someone to do the job for you.
