    Hello,

I am not sure how to put this exactly, but my server keeps timing out

I have serveral database driven websites on a virtual dedicated server and when I go to the website, sometimes it never loads,

so at first I thought it was me , until I put one oif those website checkers on and it confirmed it as well , I get this message

    URL: http://www.domain.com
    Status: FAILED 4 times since 10/25/2006 09:22:35
    Reason: Timeout

So I wrote support and they responded with this

If you could check your server logs to verify you are not running any type of memory intensive services that could cause sluggishness, and any database services in use that could be causing this as well, we can investigate this issue further from our side.

    Sincerely,

Can someone tell me what is going on?

    Thanx in advance

    Hello.

Just try if you are able to access to txt file through the web on your domain. It will help to make sure that the problem lies somewhere in scripts.

If you're using Cpanel, you can check your WHM for High resource processes.
If not, try running "top" on your server if you're running linux and check if there are any processes overloading the server or check the windows task manager if you're on a windows server

Alternatively, check and see if the DataCenter itself is having any outages
