Yes, after reading your article I get confidence. One observation I want to make. You said you do not even add content. I don't think SEO will be affected badly by adding content. In fact by adding and refreshing content SEO improves. This is only my opinion.

This is a very interesting thread and I have a similar experience.

The website is over 4 years old, it does not have any seo support, it had a little a few years ago but none since.

The website does get new pages added, these are from people registering and adding info.

The traffic was averaging 300 visitors per day up to end of 2009. For some reason at the end of 2009 the traffic started to grow fast it now averages between 600 and 900 visitors per day.

The site does not have ads or sell inks, it is pure natural. It seems to just grow on its own, with the biggest change at the end of 2009.

The bounce rate is 32% according to google analytics, average pages per visit just over 5.

I think this is an interesting comparison, not the same in that users add content, but the traffic grows without adding backlinks ... and since end of 2009 the traffic is 2 to 3 times higher.

Its amazing your traffic has increased this much without adding any new content to the website. Unfortunately i am not as patient as you so I rely paid traffic these days.
