You could also try to release a useful WordPress Plugin. Many people will link to your plugins page and send you loads of traffic depending on the usefulness of your plugin.

I review WordPress Plugins too and have a whole category on it on my blog. You may send the plugin to me, if its a good one I may review and link to your page too

I have launched multiple blogs on various topics. At roughly the same time. After 3 months 1 got a PR5, the other a PR2. I am at loss to explain the difference because i did not do anything different as regards promotion.

So i am at loss to explain the difference in PR.

it's a good idea. i considered doing something similar a little while ago, but ended up getting distracted and never got around to it. now i'm motivated again!

my idea was along the same lines but slightly different. i thought what if when you launched a new site, you released a free skin based on the design of that particular site. obviously you'd put the footer link in there, and bam! easy way to promote and get one way backlinks to a new site. certainly easier than spending god knows how many hours trying to trade links.

there is no secret today to get pr, just do some normal seo activities.

 

That's old news, unfortunately that doesn't mean next update Google won't slap your website and lose pr.
