I have done a lot of work on the site now. the engine is up to over a thousand sites and i will soon switch databases over to using SQL and PHP instead of JavaScript array powered. I also have a minature search box of the engine if anyone would like to have the code to put it on there site. Of course you may notice it now has a few more ads though.

Do you get any money if you put google or a custom made search engine powered by google on your website and if you do than approximately what percentage is it?

You earn from clicks on ads displayed just like on a normal site. I've had very limited success with it.

Hey every one. Thought i would anounce that the engine is now beening migrated to a PHP/SQL server instead of the old JavaScript/Array engine. This will hopefully help bandwith seeing how the SQL is hosted seperately. And i hope will increase load time when i make the next update with more pages. I will now be allowing up to 15000 websites on the engine at a time instead of the old 2000. I must have this cap because of the intrest of saving space and bandwith on my currently free hosts.

I am hoping for a final launch of the PHP engine on 1/14/2007. Much better then the original plan of 12/31/2007.

Who thinks the PHP will help the engine. Or do you think there is a better way then this.

concepts are important with a search engine..not necessarily the language chosen...
what makes a good search engine

    1. reasonable number of sites indexed
    2. fast response time for generating results on entering a search term
    3. relevant/expected results on entering a search term

get those 3 points using whatever language\system you want...and youré good to go :)

Yes but when i was using JavaScript the user had to download the entire array before the hompage would completely load. Witch was fine for well i had about 1-2 thousand sites but when i have 10-20 thousand it will be to slow.
