My seach ranking is great, but my content isn't - what to do?

I have a page on my site that ranks in #2 position in Google. I'm thrilled. It's interesting because this keyword wasn't a major consideration for me in terms of SEO. However, now that it's getting hits, I want to increase my conversions - it's one of my less well built out pages and needs improvement in terms of content. But I'm scared that making substantive changes will hurt my rankings.

Any suggestions on how to improve content without putting your current rankings at major risk? Of course I know there is always fluctuation, but I don't want to do something stupid... Thoughts?

My keyword search is: Spanish transcriptions

 

Just change the content but leave the title the same and don't lower the keyword density.

 

Do you get lots of traffic from that search phrase? If so, may be people are searching for free stuff and not interesting in buying anything.

 

Make sure you focus on not changing the keyword density. I did so to one of my sites and screwed it over without realizing. It's now back to where it used to be, but it was an awful week. It brought in a lot of needed traffic .
