OK, my site is ranking great in Google. My landing page is lame because it needs to get a high Google ranking, but it's good enough to only have a 50% bounce rate (I can live with that for now). However, my second page, where I make my big pitch and try to collect email or phone numbers for further contact just does not work. I am not getting the follow through that I should. I would like to hire a professional sales copy person, but am not sure how to find one. Basically, what do those of you who are good with computers, Google, etc but suck at people communication do? I am ready to quit my day job, but getting the follow through is kind of an important thing to get working first Thanks for reading my, well, I guess just my frustrations.

You can find professional sales copy people at Freelancing sites. You would need to find a freelancing site you like and then sign up to it. Then you would need to make a listing that your looking for a professional sales copy person to make a professional sales copy for you and then say how much your willing to pay them. Freelancing sites help lots of people.
What is your url? What do you mean when you say that you are not getting the follow through? Do you mean they are not going to the second page, or they are, but you can't get them to give you the info? If it is the latter, that is normal. The ease of getting an e-mail list going is highly overrated. It is very hard to get people to fork that kind of info over. Squeeze pages also do not work. And phone numbers? ... Yeah, good luck.
The more info you ask, the less signups you get. If you want to improve the sign up rate, then get rid of phone numbers or similar requests.
Thanks for all the input. I guess I was overly optimistic. I have played around with asking for phone numbers versus not, but when I get a phone number it is as successful as 100 email leads, so I guess I will continue to ask and get way less leads. Philipr, the site is basically once big sales, or I guess you call it squeeze page. I guess squeeze pages only work on other people making squeeze pages? False. OP - Finding a halfway decent sales copywriter at an affordable price can be done on sites like Elance, or even here. But you're going to have to weed throug alot... repeat ALOT... of bums first. It's always better for you, as the CEO of your company, to learn how to write your own sales copy. Assuming that's not a possibility, expect to spend some money finding a sales hound that can write... as opposed to a writer that tries to sell.
My experience is that the best in the world are not necessarily any better than you. I once had a direct mail piece that I paid a worldfamous guy $2500 to write for me, and got literally 0 response. I tried 4 or 5 other methods, and then came up with a simple postcard and phone message (the 90s version of a webpage), and did $200k in sales in 2 months. The great thing about the web is you can try different options literally for free. Study basic grammar so you can express yourself perfectly (this includes me and all of us LOL), and just keep trying your own ideas. It is unlikely that anyone else will ever be as passionate as you are. Or if you find a great copyrighter who knows they can sell for you, ask them to put it on the line and do it for a percentage of the sales.
I learned through trial and error. I simply looked at what was making me want to buy related products and took tag lines that worked best and added my own take on it to make it my own.
A good copywriter is quite expensive, because usually each sale depends on convincing the reader that they should purchase the product (or sign up for a newsletter, etc). However, you can find quite good ones not only in the places already mentioned by others in this thread, as well as at odesk.com and at the warrior forum. Many people are able to sell products that have nothing special to offer, only because they have talent on copywriting, or they have hired a good copywriter, while other people are trying to sell very good products without success, because their sales letter is not convincing enough.
Really, John? Try telling that to the, God knows how many more experienced who know different. And since over half of the internet users do not like squeeze pages, and they will back out of the site before the webmaster even has a chance to sell them...um...this ain't rocket science.

Ha Ha, a lot of peoples witting skills suck to say the least. It's nothing to be ashamed of writing is a talent, a hard talent to gain. I myself am very lazy. I hire people to write my articles. You should TextBroker or constant content.
