What seems like ages ago I asked the question what would you do if you had 3 months off well it has finally happened and my 3 month sabbatical from work starts today. Thanks to everybody that has given me the knowledge, motivation and support to walk out on my normal job for a bit. The intention is to work like crazy on existing and new sites and then go back to work in November and resign. So I'll probably be a bit more active here than normal but if I'm in General Chat too long please tell me to get out and do some work
Good luck mate! I'm sure you'll do really well. PS - Thanks for the food on Sat, and sorry me and Tops broke your swingball bats.
Nope... We got a bit aggressive and left the bats for the swingball @ Al's with a large hole in them... I have pics on my phone...
You've not heard of swingball, geez you're not that far away, http://www.activetoys.co.uk/ishop/955/shopscr972.html
sweet! Nothing better in the world (well, except...you know) than working for yourself. Forget the 3 months make it 30 years. "You can do it!" Good luck bro.
As 2 layabouts broke my bats I'll have to settle for making money online rather than the prize money I'd obviously of won from Swing-ball. Cheers for the support and words of encouragement guys, 3 months is certainly just the beginning, I certainly want to be long time retired before 30 years mind
Good luck dct! There's nothing better than running your own business! Hopefully you make enough to continue running your business after 3 months.
Way to go dct! These three months will be exciting but just think how good you´ll feel when you tell your boss you are leaving. When I quit one very stressful job I had to do three months notice. That was tough and I hated every minute of it. The day after my last day, I set the alarm to six o´clock as per usual so that when it rung in the morning, I could pick it up and smash it to bits off the far wall. That felt great! Looking forward to seeing your name in lights!
It was funny I woke up at 7.30 today and was able to get straight up, I never normally do that on a Monday. One of the conditions of my time off is when I return in November I must stay for at least my notice period (another 3 months) so I won't be fully free until Feb but I'm pretty confident I can negotiate a shorter notice period when the time comes
After breaking the bats the pair of them actually had a limbo competition, fortunately I was cooking (or drinking) duties at that time.
