I would only say with that earning per click you should have probably made a good bit chunk more of money as profit. So while you may not care about your CTR, your bottom line does.
Eh, I do things when they get to me. Yahoo doesn't seem to care about my CTR. I don't have time to mess with Google's quality score so I'm not using Adwords...If I did, I'd probably get 3k clicks with my 2k keywords daily. MSN doesn't seem to know what quality means yet. Out of the 2000, yahoo removed 30-40. I love how some think I'm trying to hype things up and make my blog popular. #1, I can care less about my blog which is why I rarely post. I figure I should have a blog because it's easy and I can put out my opinion in the blogosphere. #2, I really am not trying to be Shoemoney, I wish I had Shoemoney skills, but honestly I'm fine with who I am lol...I'm an 18 year old, there's more to life for me right now that making money. #3, if you're arguing then it probably hasn't worked for you - sorry. I guess there's always going to be thsoe critics out there. Plus those who are pissed because there will be a bunch more new competitors, lol. You can't call yourself a good affiliate marketer if you can't handle competition, get over it.
I won't argue that you did make money with Ringtones, but I will argue that fact that it is a super saturated affiliate program still, and it is hard to make money with it. You could of got lucky...I mean of course there will always be some keywords you can probably find or get away with...But don't expect to make tons in ringtones anymore. You can make money with ringtones even though its a saturated market, however there are alot easier markets out their for newbies and that is all I think everyone on dp is trying to say.
I'm glad I took the time to review the blog completely. I discovered a valuable tool, and reviewed some numbers. Cheers for putting this together. That said, Ringtones is still rough, I'm doing better with a few other programs thanks, my thousands dollars makes me 2K instead of 1700
i'm quite new here... but just a quesiton. you guys been saying ringtone is hard... and newbie should try those easier niche... what're those niche that you consider easiser?
If we tell you then it becomes saturated just like other well converting cpa offers.... look at whats hot in some of the networks you are part of there is a reason they are converting. Plus trial and error sometimes some of the unhottest offers in the networks i can make convert like growing a money tree .
There is still money to be made in ringtones, i guess it depends on the type of margins youre looking for but you can easily make 25% profit in ringtones still
Thanks for the info man. Thats a good post. Lots of info! Can I ask what other tools you guys use for generating keywords? So far that is the hardest thing for me. I mean I can think of keywords, and variations, and misspellings and such, but after a hundred or so I start to run out of ideas and struggle.
One piece of advice I can give, and it is good for CPA stuff and pretty much anything in life. If you want to be truly successful you can't just walk down the same road as everyone else. This doesn't mean you could not be successful in ringtones, but if you are going to approach it the same way that the 10,000 people before you have approached it, your odds of being really successful are extremely small.
Thank you for the information. You supplied a lot of good information and I hope soon I can take part in affiliate marketing. I'm ready to start but I have a low budget and sort of lost in the begining steps(landing pages). I have an account with Azoogle but I don't know my login id/password. I'm going to go email them now about it. Do companys supply you with basic landing pages or do you have to make them from scratch? Any other help/information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Aaron
I started doing affiliate marketing (ringtones) PPC for the first time on Monday and the first three days, I made 80 bucks in profit. That may have been a fluke though. I'm now getting twice as many clicks and getting 1 lead per day. The ads have changed slightly, but they're not misleading. Maybe that could be it? I still think I can make some decent money with it, it's just a lot of work to organize, upload, and manage thousands and thousands of keywords. Just like anything though, experience is the best teacher.
Yeah, if you're willing to work on it and test test test... Pretty much anything can be profitable. I'm not too big on trying to find the easy niches, I just ask my affiliate manager "what's hot?" and he'll give me a list of the top offers by conversion % and revenue made, then I just pick a couple and test. So if you have a cool affiliate manager you can probably ask, but you might have to earn their respect if you're new to the game. If you're manually thinking of keywords, it's going to be pretty tough to think of something different (yet good) from everybody else. In a competitive market you either have to have a lot of marketing money or have a huge quantity of keywords. What I do is just scrape (aka borrow) keywords from certain places.
During my first two weeks with azoogle I have found that: "It's hard to earn a high quality score with Google, It's hard to get keywords approved with Yahoo, It's hard to do anything with AdCenter" Okay, I have 22K+ Keywords in Google. Due to their QS BS I can barely receive 150-200 clicks a day 8(. I found 1 keyword that can generate leads BEtter that all these 22K other KWs. It worked for 1 day, got me 14 leads and then bam - QS issue, pay Goo 1$-5$ for a click. Tried to get these KWs to YSM. Barely 10% of them got approved. As for MSN, it's just like an empty space, nobody goes there? 8(
