My Revene Is In The Toilet

My Revene over the last 2 weeks have declined by over 50%. I know January isn't the best month for advertising - but has anyone else seen this drop?

always write what helps people most, what is of greatest usefulness to ppl and you get highest eCPM.

avoid publishing just for ads revenue - only for helpfulness and to increase quality of life of ALL!

    btw
switch to the success-channel in life - chose adsense instead of YPN

I've noticed a large slump in adsense as well in comparison with prior months. Holiday months generally yield the highest for me, but to be off by 60% on an 'off' month vs prior 'off' months is sad. Ah well.

I am having a good month. I have found if you update content regularly etc.. your ads change and lately they have matched good for us..

Last 6 months or so have been really good.

Thanks for the replies. YPN can be very frustrating. If they start paying so much less, they are getting rid of their only advantge for publishers IMO.

One would think with how poorly their stock is doing, and how they are behind google and how other social type media sites are getting more popular, that they would be treating their publishers very well?

I can deal with everything else as long as don't take away revenue...

You have to look at the economy as well, the warning of a recession will lead companies to lessen their advertising because consumers will be less likely to be buying their products.

Also, look at Yahoo's economic problems alone. They have been having problems themselves.
    http://blog.wired.com/business/2008/01/yahoo-profits-s.html

Online advertising is going to be taking a big hit if there is in fact a recession. The tech market will take a big hit as well.

well here is the reply from YPN:

"In comparing a drop in the revenue for the last three months, this is due to Quality-based Pricing. Please understand that in an ongoing effort to strengthen our Sponsored Search and Content Match marketplaces, Yahoo! introduced a new traffic quality feature called "quality-based pricing". Quality-based pricing gives us the ability to price traffic commensurate with the value that advertisers receive from each traffic source.

Quality-based pricing ensures that traffic is priced in a manner that is consistent with the quality it delivers to our advertisers. Clicks from low-quality traffic sources may be discounted to ensure that advertisers are paying an appropriate amount for a click based on the value of that lead."

    Yeah, right...
