ok I kind of want to add adsense to my music videos site when I do a bit more work on it and get it promoed a bit...the thing is im thinking of having a site where u can download promo music videos along side the youtube vids...I don't know if adsense will ban me so thought I will ask here before adding it to the site? if I am not alloud adsense who else can I add? http://www.rapmusicvideos.info is my site i am working on... thanks
If you can download them - its illegal I think, so you are not allowed to use Adsense (warez, yeah ?)
I have seen this forum running for a few years that has adsense ads and it has promo music videos for download... and how is this warez???? warez is like serials and hacks.. how come youtube can host these videos and use adsense????
Its more like piracy thats a easier term to apply to it. ok youtube does not have the right to actually have music videos on the site. I believe if you link to the video and stream it from youtubes servers youtube takes all the legal responsibility but if you have the files on your server and some music producer or some shit title wants to sue you he can (If the files are on your server.) I would just stream the music vids from youtube it also keeps visitors returning.
what if the promo music clips are hosted on like rapidshare.de????? this is a really trickey case, I think people here are getting mixed up with music like mp3s and promo music videos.. say how is a site liek this legit - http://keepvid.com/ people could just download trademarked music videos from youtube and kee them???
Yes they could but youtube is to blame for that. They do not host the files on their server the script extracts the video from youtube without touching their servers (well maby for the conversion if any is in place). but they are not knowing what users transfer so that site would be safe from any lawsuit. what are promos exactly here in australia Ive never heard the term used for a music video. Basically ask yourself do you have the legal right to distribute the videos?? more than likely nothing will happen to you if you host the files but if you host on rapidshare.de if the authorities really wanted to get you they would track your ip addy. but again I think the authorities have bigger problems than chasing up what you will be doing. to be safe I would just host any copyrighted material on another server not belonging to you so that way.
you should be fine using youtube videos but if you are allowing people to download mp3 and videos i think that is a big no no, if ou are still not sure try writting to google.
this is not mp3s or music videos like on tv these are promo videos for promotion only..they contain no tv trade marks or any thing...people are even selling promo music videos on ebay in bulk
Keep the rap music clean (no sex, nudity, etc.) and don't host anything on your site, and don't provide your users with any illegal downloads (re: mp3's that AREN'T free), and you can put Adsense on it. Links to YouTube are fine, as are Rapidshare (again, as long as it's not ILLEGAL).
