Hello, can any one tell me that why games are not so much fine when they are played in VISTA. I am having MOHAA (MEDAL OF HONOUR ALLIED ASSUALT) and COD4 which is always having many problems when using vista and also it gets slower during running. And when I run them in XP they just work fantastically. I would like to inform you that I am having gaming zone, so I installed VISTA in all of my gaming computers but now people are complaining they want XP back for games. Still VISTA is, no doubt, an amazing and flawless platform to enjoy and work in!

    Regards,

Trying running msconfig from 'run' and disabling most of the startup programs you don't need. Also change the settings in system to better performance. If you have 1gb of mem or less than that's your problem. You could also have a crappy graphics card. I have vista and run everything great :) quad core is nice

I have got latest Nvidia card and also i m using core quad. So its nothing to do with my computer, the problem is just in the OS platform... when making vista i think Microsoft didn't focused on gaming stuff. Ppl are having problem who are really big time gamers!

How much RAM you use for your system?

Assuming the games you speak of work fine on your hardware under XP then it can only be a software/driver issue preventing you from receiving the same performance level under Vista.

I've played these games under Vista as have most of my friends and we've no issues with Vista in terms of a gaming operating system.

The most likely cause for problems would be the graphics card driver. It's important to keep these up to date if you are having problems. With the release of newer drivers there is often some performance gains provided by more optimal coding etc. It's also important before installing new drivers that you completely remove the old drivers, from memory the tool you need is called 'driver-cleaner' or something along those lines. Installing or updating to newer drivers without removing the old drivers is just asking for trouble.

In the past I've had the following symptoms by not removing the old drivers first (the lazy mans approach :D), random stuttering and pauses while in game, slower than normal video response and just crappy overall performance. Do yourself a favor and run the driver cleaner then re-install the latest video drivers for your graphics card.

Vista does stink and I would compare it to the old Windows 98 ME version. Microsoft was aware of this when they released it.

I have read reviews on Windows 7 and also the test results. The testing involved gaming. I don't recall the exact games(s), but Windows 7 got outstanding reviews. The testing and reviews were done by PC mag or PC World or one of the other big time well known shops, so I tend to believe them.

I recently bought my friend a PC with Vista on it thinking that Vista was 64 bit. Come to find out, that is not the case. There are 32 and 64 bit versions. Course, this is my fault:))

Danksy, I am pro gamer.... have been playing these games professional. And also I have won various competiton and tornaments. My friend told me that it was in spider magzine that vista was a blig flop for those who play games as the platform for games very not supportive but in windows 7 the platform of the games is similar to windows XP!
    Try that! cheers

Yeah! I agree with you. I am currently using Vista and games are running good for me. But I tried Windows 7 and I noticed that the games ran better than Vista.

I can't wait for Windows 7's final release. The final will be even more better.
