Day 8 Update: ( I really appreciate the support so far guys. It's definitely helping me stay focused and motivated)

    ---------------------------

    Good afternoon!

I yet again changed the look of the blog, and like this one much better. It’s not perfect but it’ll do for now.

Actually, what are your thoughts on the designs so far?

Also, I decided to post a picture of myself in the about me section, so you can now see my ugly mug if you wish.

I finished up Sniper #4 today, and just need to add a few new pieces of content to it in the next few days. Sniper #5 is also coming along nicely.

I also added “About me”, “Contact”, and “Privacy Policy” pages to all of my blogs. Google likes to see these sort of things and it helps with the SEO of the sites.

Yet another sale today from the first site! Woo-hoo!

I really think I nailed a winner with the first niche I chose. I also know a lot about it, so that helps.

Rankings wise, Sniper #1 is doing the Google dance it appears, as it’s down to spot #5 now. I’m certainly not worried about it, as they tend to dance a bit before finally settling into place.

The other sites all actually gained momentum and jumped up a few spots each. Sniper #2 is now on page 1 of Google in the #9 spot.

It’s going to be difficult to keep track of all these sites once I have them in the double digits. Any suggestions to make this blog less boring would be welcome. I may finally get to a ‘read me’ type of section so people can easily reference stuff. I’m also working on a Q&A to answer some questions I’ve been asked frequently.

For those of you that signed up for my newsletter, thank you! I think you’ll find it a very valuable resource in the coming months. I plan on sending out an email at LEAST once per week with a helpful tip, secret, valuable offer, or bonus.

That’s it for today. I am taking many of your suggestions into consideration, so please keep them coming.

    Earnings for today:

    CB Snipers: $26.98

    Earnings to date:

    CB Snipers: $147.69

Day 9: (Your thoughts on the new design? I'm trying to make it easy to navigate...)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Yo!

What’s ‘crackin’, as the homies would say?

    —————————–

Before we get started: I am going to be running a contest soon (with PRIZES~!!). The goal is to get this blog promoted to as many people as possible. Details on the contest and prizes tomorrow.

    —————————–

Day 9. Feels like just yesterday I started this thing…

No sales today, yet. The day is still young though, so we shall see.

I am considering purchasing UAW (unique article wizard) for this project. I’ve used it before, and it’s pretty good (albeit, a bit pricey). At 60 bucks a month, it will take an article and submit it to hundreds, if not thousands of article directories. This is obviously good for backlinking purposes.

I have made ‘enough’ money so far that I can afford to start re-investing my profits. Granted. I’ve only hit the $147 mark, but if you want to speed up the process, sometimes you need to spend money to make money.

I learned that the hard way years ago.

…Anyway, I got this blog up purposely early today, so I can get some actual work done on my mini-sites.

I already put the finishing touches on Sniper #5 this morning, and will be working on #6 the rest of the day.

6 Sniper sites in 9 days is pretty crazy, but I honestly can tell you it wasn’t much work. A few hours per site to get most of the ‘work’ done. Then it’s all about adding content…

That being said… Here are the totals.

    Earnings for today:

    CB Snipers: $0.00

    Earnings to date:

    CB Snipers: $147.69

Lastly, if you haven’t joined my mailing list/newsletter, what are you waiting for? Subscribe on the right hand side of the page (at the top).

    It’s F-R-E-E!

    Til tomorrow,

    Mike

I think it's great that you are willing to share your knowlledge to improve the success of others. You know what they say. ""What goes around, comes around." I'm sure that you will be having some good karma come your way!

The best advice that I could give to a newbie is to immediately build a squeeze page and start building an email list. AND, find 1 or 2 great products and stick to promoting those instead of jumping around.

Also, try and submit at least 3 articles per day to the top 5 directories:

    1. Ezine Articles
    2. Go Articles
    3. Idea Marketers
    4. Articles Base
    5. Amazines

    Great advice cjmo,

Especially because right now, you can get Aweber (the best email auto-responder out there) for a month for just $1. Take advantage guys, what's a buck? I think they may even offer a refund on the $1 if you're not happy.

Even if you don't want to start a list, you can always just start a free blog somewhere like Wordpress, promote a product to a hungry market, and drive traffic. It's really a pretty simple formula on paper. Of course, there is more to it, but the generalities will always apply.

    Mike

Edit: I want to move to Tempe, Arizona actually. I was on vacation there a few years ago and saw a Pink Floyd show and had a blast in the area. Weather is so nice. Much better than this crappy northeastern weather. Heard it's a lot cheaper to live there too.

    Day 10.
    ------------

    What’s up?

TGIF. My favorite day of the week!

    —————————————

Alright, as I said yesterday I am going to start a little contest. Nothing huge.

I want to increase readership to this site as much as possible. For the current readers I DO have, here’s the lowdown:

    Rules

In whitehat ways only, promote this site to as many eyeballs as you can. By whitehat I mean absolutely NO SPAMMING. Informative posting, emails, social bookmarking… Be creative. But get this site out there so people know what it’s about.

Keep track, and e-mail me the URLs where you’ve linked my site. If you have an email list, you are welcome to throw a broadcast out to that list as well.

Whoever I feel does the most work to promote my site will be the winner(s). Again, be creative! I hear Twitter is a good resource these days… ;)

    Prizes

    There will be two prizes:

1st Prize will get an hour’s worth of access to me via Skype/Yahoo/AIM. You can ask me anything you want and I will help you with your business. In addition, if you already have a website or something you’d like to promote, I will post it on this site for a month.

2nd Prize will get to see one of my niche sites. I am very, very against showing my niches and/or sites, but I will make an exception here. You can ask any questions about the site via email and I will do my best to get you started up building your own site(s).

I’ve never run a contest like this before, so we’ll see how it goes. If it works out well, I may run another one with different prizes that I have in mind.

    To Enter

Send me an email with the subject line: MikeNason.com Contest to

Include your name, location, and age. Also, a short blurb on how you plan on promoting the site.

I’ll take any entries through the weekend. Promotion can start as soon as I receive your email and will go until next Sunday (7/25).

I think this will be fun. Let me know of any suggestions you may have.

    —————————————

    As for progress…

No sales today, again. No big deal. This is an ongoing process and until I get some sites solidly ranked in the first few spots, sales will be sporadic.

Sniper #6 is just about finished. The site is up and I’ve added some content. Just working on finishing up the Contact, Privacy Policy, and About pages.

Rankings wise, Sniper #1 peaked at #2 on Google today for quite sometime, but as I check now it’s down to #3 again. I’m hoping that it cracks #1 tomorrow and STAYS there. :)

The rest of the sites stayed as is. So I have two sites on Google’s first page as of this writing. Tomorrow seems like a backlinking day. Ugh…

    Earnings for today:

    CB Snipers: $0.00

    Earnings to date:

    CB Snipers: $147.69

That’s it for today. And if you haven’t done so yet… Join my email list! :)

    Enjoy your weekend!

Calling it a "sniper" already makes you look like a clown, IMO.

I don't even know what a sniper is - I assume it's a term from some popular ebook or course you bought for $80 that means blog or article page that you push backlinks to...but seriously...

It seems you're pretty fond of me. :)

It also occurs to me that the most unsuccessful marketers are usually the ones that bitterly flame others for no apparent reason.

    Hmm....

Thanks for your support, though. Good luck to you in finding whatever's missing in your life.

You still haven't explained what a "sniper" is (besides someone with a high powered rifle who shoots accurately from long distances).

If you didn't want these comments, you shouldn't have started a thread.

I don't recall complaining about your comments. Infact, you keep bumping my thread. Thank you!

In short, a 'Sniper' is just another word for a site that's laser targeted onto one keyword that you can find an EMD for (amongst other SEO properties), that should be able to rank highly in Google, if you follow instructions correctly.

    Thanks for stopping by again,

dlm is actually pretty successful. he/she has been on the forum since 2006 and is sick of people making posts just to bump up their post count.

But.... I actually think this thread has some potential.. You made it past day 2.. :)

    Keep up the good work.

    Why thank you :)

Actually, the main reason I dislike these threads is that they are usually total narcissistic crap. This one isn't too terrible - but if you are going to make your journal useful to the community (and not just a way of trying to show off) then you need to include information like what platform are you using for your "snipers" (your own domain, blogger, wordpress, or what) and which sites you are using for backlinks. THAT will help people. Telling us how much money you've made and where your pages rank is useless without a little background information.

@ trixy: A "Sniper" site is a site that targets just one keyword with a certain amount of competition/traffic. It's a small 4-10 page site that tells a 'story', eventually promoting a product (informational CB products for the most part). If you follow the SEO principles in the program (Google Sniper) you *should* be able to get a great ranking on the first page of Google and pull in easy sales, assuming that your presell copy is decent. Hope that helps. Day 11 follows:

    -----------------------

    Day 11:

    Late and quick Saturday update:

Backlinked today. Didn’t do much else. I want to see if I can get most of these sites ranked in the top 3 spots on Google before I move on to create more sites.

Sniper #1 is currently ranked at #2 and has been there all day. Hopefully this last backlinking campaign will give it the final boost it needs to reach #1.

I also got a sale from Sniper #1 as well (very early this morning here in the U.S.)

Thanks for those of you who signed up for the contest. If you haven’t signed up, you have until Sunday @ 11:59 PM EST to do so. :) To read about the contest, check out yesterday’s post.

And thanks for the newest editions to my newsletter! You won’t be disappointed.

    See ya Monday!

    Earnings for today:

    CB Snipers: $26.98

    Earnings to date:

    CB Snipers: $174.67

Day 12: I'm trying to improve the blog. You can leave any suggestions you want here on this thread, by email, or commenting on the blog. I need to know what you guys want to see (except for revealing my niches, of course) to make it as informational and useful as possible. Thanks!

    ------------------

    Yo,

Awesome news. Sniper #1 is sitting at the top spot on Google. Woot! In addition, almost all of my other sites improved in the rankings, except for one stubborn keyword.

Might just chalk that one up to a loss. The competition is a little difficult. Then again, Sniper #1 has 3 million competing pages, so….

In addition, I started 2 more Sniper sites today. Just got the domains registered and ‘bare bones’ sites up.

I’m looking to hire someone to backlink for me, because I honestly hate it. It’s the worst part of building these sites in my opinion. If you’re interested, shoot me a message and let me know what your price is.

Lastly, I started the FAQ / Read me. I hope to have that done in a day or two, although it’s not a huge priority right now.

Thanks for the people that joined my newsletter and my contest. I hope my coaching to the winner results in some success for whoever that is.

Also, I may start splitting my time with Sniper sites and another model that I’ve been reading about. I’ll keep you guys updated.

Please, if you have any suggestions at all, don’t hesitate to email me. I will not reveal my niches or sites, but if there’s anything you’d like me to do otherwise to improve the blog, I’m all for it.

    Take it easy guys!

    Mike

This thread looks less encouraging but more inductive to build traffic to your own website, newsletter and RSS subscription list.
Until and unless you do not share with the people, how your websites are ranking, where you are building your links, how you selected your product, why you selected that product.... is totally useless for the community.

Nobody is interested here to see, what is your total earning, everybody want to see, HOW ?
    Hope you understand!
