Yes, you heard me correctly, my clickbank publisher account was almost hacked by some russian hacker. Anyway I was finishing up a new product which I was about to release it here on DP in a week. While surfing some site I was posioned with some virus and yes I do have an anitivrus, 2 actually, AVG and kaspersky. It installed a rootkit virus and I could see him stealing docs and info; and then...boom my cp shut off. It was a traumatically horrible experience and I almost lost all of my site files, ebook doc's, psd's, publisher CB accounts, AND FTP passwords. So right now I am reformatting my computer and have saved all my CB info on file now. The funniest part of this ordeal is that right now I am typing this thread from my PS3 while my computer is down. I was just about to launch my new CB product and then I was knocked off my feet by this; what a bummer. Anyway long story short now I am considering getting a mac for business CB related stuff so I will not live in fear of viruses and the unknown. Do any of you CB IM'ers use a mac? Would you recommend it?
Now that Mac uses Unix underneath, I would recommend it. But I suggest Linux. I started using it in 1999 but I still used Windows and Mac more. In the past 2 years I've gone full Linux. Yeah it sucks for the first month or 2, but then after that the power is so great that you will never leave it.
I'm saving up for a MacBook pro. Hopefully I'll generate enough money through my new system, which you hear me talking about everywhere, lol.
No, I have a firewall and I am very computer literate. I have programmed for years and lived in front of my PC for many years. Root kits aren't your average virus. There is practically no way to get rid of them besides wiping your entire drive. What it does is injects your antivirus with malicious code and essentially kills it. If you want to play russian roulette with it, I am sure I can give you a link to a dl spot?
