My Proxy Site Traffic Decreased Steepily :(

Recently i started a web proxy and after reading through a lot of threads i found someone who would submit it to nearly 100 topsites and 13 newsgroups for 6$.
After it was submitted etc etc..within the first few days i saw a huge traffic increase ,within 3 days i had nearly 900 uniques and 3gb of b/w was used.

But today when i checked Awstats i am shocked,b/w usage was near 100mb and only a few uniques too.

Why is there the sudden decrease?Did it get blocked?

I would really appericiate it if anyone could tell me how to get a steady flow of traffic

No way bro if old proxies won't get banned, you won't get new visitors

 

Lol,well what i meant was some kind of visitors..is this the end of my proxy ?..just within a week..i see a whole lot of guides/advice implying there are ways to get a steady flow

 

The reason for your scenario is as follows

Traffic is high to start with because the newsletters will list you as a new proxy you will then fall off there radar after a week or so because they will have new proxy's that they are promoting, they will not be promoting yours anymore

Traffic from topsites generally only comes if you have high traffic already i.e. you will have a high position on the topsite hence people will click giving you more traffic.

So generally topsites are only useful if you already have v good traffic (take a look at some of them and see how many daily hits the proxies are getting near the top of the toplist - this is not from toplist traffic this is from a core base of traffic)

1. You need to get your traffic from everywhere you can think of, or advertise your proxy, if you advertise then you will get a good base of traffic, then the topsites will give you a little more.

2. SEO your proxy - this is the best way to get a steady stream of traffic - three tips for this
a) put a UNIQUE blurb about proxies on your homepage not a copy and paste version about unblocking myspace etc
b) build links LOTS OF THEM
c) the keywords PROXY & WEB PROXY are highly competitive try some long tail variations of these

Proxies are not as easy money as everyone makes out, they require hardwork just like all other sites if you want to be successful
