*This is not actually happening i am just wandering if people would be intersted and if enought people are then i will make it happen* My idea for a competition I am thinking of holding a competition to advertise my website but i would like to no if enough people would enter it before i consider it. it would be a competition were people make some kind of digital art on there computer (anything from logo's to templates or just a picture) and they would submit it on my forum hoping to win a cash prize. the competition would be held for 2 weeks and after that i would announce the winner's. the prizes would be: 1st place wins $20 (USD) 2nd place wins $10 (USD) 3rd place wins $7 (USD) 4th - 15th place all art work will be placed on the website. to neter you would have to sign up on my forum and post ur entry in the competition section. please say here if you would be willing to enter as i would need to know ifit would be popular. Or if you have any ideas to make it better then say so here aswell. many thanks jhill
also i dont quite no which would be better as it is not a great deal of money for 1st prize. so i just have a prize for first place ($35) and the rest can go on my website or do i just keep it the way i said before.
First prize of $35 will get you higher quality submissions, i think. Unless you have a higher budget, and still can provide 10$ each to 2 others.

Ah, that looks good. But i think 35$ as first price looks way more attractive than 30$. Not just because it's 5$ more.

That's okay. Quality is rewarded well and those falling short are not disappointed. Better than some of those all or nothing contests.
i guess your right but aswell as that all the people that finish ettween 1st and 15th will have there art posted on the site. also how will i get people to know about this contest?
Here are some random ideas Put a link to the contest in your sig(s). And post on the freebies section of DP,thread title - something like "free exposure for budding designers", some amateur designers can get their designs up at your site, when they get 4-15th places ? Start a contest thread here, obviously. And post about this in some designer forums, some of them have competition sections. Google the word "designer forums" and check out the top sites.
