hey as in a thread on DP i learnt tht even a blog wid a name adsense is against adsense TOS if i am running adsense on it nw hav changed my blog name and my ctr has completely fallen down and i lost my PR also my alexa rank is gone is there any way i can boost up my ctr and divert the traffic frm my old blog to the new blog? my old blog was adsenserockers.blogspot.com and my new blog is highestpatinglist.blogspot.com
Goodness! A name change does affect traffic a lot, it is nearly as if you are starting from a new. Did you receive an email from Adsense or did you change it after reading Adsense TOS? Maybe try writing in asking for permission? It would be a great loss for you if you just change in this way, all the PR, Alexa and links
yah man i am under great loss actualy but on a thread on DP it was stated tht it is illegal to hav adsense in the domain name....can url redirection be used to redirect my old blog to my new blog? if so can sum1 tel me hw to use url redirection
Why not confirm with Adsense first or it is such a pity! For redirecting, I think those SEO experts will know the best way to redirect, any members here willing to advise?
Quick reply, but you should have plan it carefully before doing it Here is the general method for reference, you will need to tweak it to fit your blogspot hosting ( like point 2 is not possible for you, and you need to find a way to do point 3 as it's the key to not loose all your work ). 1. use the exact same architecture as your old site 2. check that info from the whois are exactly the same 3. do a permanent 301 redirection from all page of the old site to the corresponding page on the new one. Don't only redirect the home page but all pages. If you use php on your old site : or if you need to do it through .htaccess : RewriteRule /article /new/article [R=301] 4. Once the redirections are there, crawlers/bot will go to the new site, so the new site needs to be perfectly identical and that no pages from the old site is still accessible. 5. To accelerate the new indexation, do a sitemap for Google Sitemaps 6. Try to have quickly some links that where pointing to your old site to point to the new one. 7. wait... As your are looking for a specific answer for your blogspot blog, here is a relevant link explaining how to do the 301 redirection : ( sorry for the ugly quote, am too new to post link ) Good luck !
I'm not sure you can. If you have your own domain it would be easy as cake to switch. This is a toughie. I'd e-mail AdSense see if there is any problem.
