I don't think that Google will buy Ebay any time soon. I wouldn't do it if I were running google p.l.u.r.
I'm not sure who you are, but I've been in Internet marketing for 3 years, and have run successful companies since January 1999. Earnings are not necessarily a reflection of customer satisfaction. Tell me this: where can eBay's unhappy users go? No site offers the same audience and breadth of features. Whenever someone does offer these things, eBay's toast.
The purpose of business is NOT customer satisfaction, its Earning and growing. You think VISA is big because they have the most satisfied customers ? How about Microsoft ? Walmart customer satisfaction ? Earnings are customer satisfaction to a company. If we earn more, means people are buying from us, they want our products. If we earn less, people are buying less from us, we better improve ourselves. And about Ebay - even a tiny 1000$/day seller would rather get royally $%$!ed by Ebay for several thousand dollars, than move away to another platform and lose a steady income and proven methods for bringing some money.
I'll stop now. I had forgotten that my opponent needs to have an open mind before I start to argue with him or her. I'll disregard everything you say now, as it's obvious you have no clue what you're talking about.
If they buy Ebay then they will have to buy Paypal as well because Ebay owns Paypal...Together, the price tag would be HUUUUGGEEEEE!!!!! Col
Agreed - I wouldn't be surprised if someone even bought eBay not for eBay itself, but for PayPal (which is worth more, as a brand).
I can't see Google buying eBay because eBay would never sell and Google is probably scared of wrecking the model. eBay is too esbalished now on its own, it's not like a YouTube model which is still relatively new. What I could see happening is Google starting up their own Paypal service to compete with eBay's.
You know, claiming a person doesn't have an open mind before you even argue back is quite childish. If you don't want to argue , just say so, nothing wrong about it. Getting defensive and insulting me was uncalled for. Best of luck with your 8 year old internet marketing business. Cheers.
I'm not sure what planet you're on, but around here, becoming a $40+ billion dollar company in 10 years is not considered a failure.
Ebay might not really effect to Google business much. Google will buy the business that related to their main business and can make money. If ebay customer use google and earn lots of money a month, sure google will buy it.
Money can buy a lot of things but not all things. Must have "willing buyer and willing seller" situation. What about Google buying Yahoo?
If google really wanted to buy eBay they could do so by way of a hostile takeover. But, I think if google wanted to enter into the online auction business, they would create their own and compete with eBay. For example, they created their own payment system, instead of buying the very established PayPal.
google dosen ot have a friendly relation with ebay! rather yahoo is pretty inclined to ebay and paypal. so it looks like, microsoft may buy ebay in future! unfortunately for google, nothing is going G's way
If Google buy eBay then paypal will be acquired as well making Google Checkout as no 1 payment gateway.
