*RANT* My mom is a nurse and really would like to do something that is work at home. She wants a full at home income. Anyway, throughout the years she's done Amway, Watkins, Avon... and then she's done things like Xango and Doba. She even tried building little tiny log cabin miniatures for 50 cents a piece (which take hours) and we still make light fun of her about that one. This time she's gotten herself into a program called Melaleuca. She tried to recruit me and I agreed to some sort of phone call. I looked up Melaleuca on the internet and the program looks fishy.. they seem like they are more into the marketing than the actual product. I Googled: "melalueca" and "scam" and found a bunch of not-so-good stuff about it. I feel really bad about this and felt so bad to have to tell her. I told my dad instead who then visited ripoffreport.com and showed it to her. I guess she was pretty upset about it. I just feel really bad about this because she's ALWAYS falling for stuff like this. She got a phone call once saying she won some sort of vacation. When my dad looked it over he realized that it was a scam and she was crushed. I remember she called me up once because she is doing surveys on the internet for money. I mean, I do treasure trooper, and am a fan but you have to know the ins and outs of a program and it's not an income.. more of a supplement. I feel so bad for her because she wants to work at home so much and wants out of nursing, but she's so gullible. I just wish companies couldn't do this to people. *RANT*
whats she passionate about? She should go for whatever she enjoys most and make her own way of earning money rather than signing up to try and earn through the ladders of MLM
I know a few nurses, and they all have the same 'flaw' (just like your mum) - the ability to blindly believe in people. The world needs more nurses like your mum. We just need to let them know how much we appreciate what they do - so they'll keep doing it.
man that sucks. i hate to see loved ones get hurt i would much rather take double the pain just so they get none... hope your mom finds the right thing for her. why not do psychology surveys? they pay really well look into your local university.
she could think about doing things like paid online surveys, data input things like that. (if she is computer literate)
I think the biggest key in earning online is to work for yourself and not someone else. You know if you are putting money in someone elses pocket either A) it won't work or B) You are only giving money away that you could earn yourself.
Well nobody succeeds in making money online from the first month, or even the first year. Tell your mom to keep it up and one day she will get there. Even if you get scammed, you will learn.
With the current nursing shortage and rising salaries I'd think she'd want to stay with that job. Of course, there is a lot of stress involved. It's going to take a long time for her to come anywhere near her nursing salary; most of the people probably do not make that much. She should give up the marketing scams and get into content development and advertising. Anyone can create content, and there are tons of advertisers out there willing to slap some ads on that content. IMO, it would be far less work than AVON or any of there other marketing schemes and it has the possibility of being far more rewarding financially.
