I think "avast" is the problem. it eats processor speed. try uninstall and update this post with result..

Try to isolate the problem. Try running it without an antivirus, and then try using a different antivirus like AVG on the machine. If you notice a difference in speeds, then it almost certainly Avast at fault here.

Could you post your computers specs? Goto My Computer>Right-Click and go to properties post what you see.. Example my laptop says
Processor: AMD Athlon Dual-Core 3.20 GHZ
Installed memory (RAM): 4.00 GB (3.92 usable)

Your avast catches all the viruses, it seems to me that you have some spyware or adware. Do this. go to www .s7computersolutions.com/free-software.html[/url] and download spybot. after installation run it and have it remove what it finds. after this run disk cleanup and restart you pc. this should relieve the slowness. also check your task manager to see how many processes you are running. if this is to much i do offer remote access to fix issues for 19.99 per session with a fix it or free guarantee.

Use ccleaner (dot) com and I bet your problems will be resolved. It fixes your registry files and cleans out all the junk.

What is the configuration of your PC?
Use some registry cleaners to speed up your OS.

Some antivirus software really slows down PC's. Try uninstalling it and seeing if your computer is any faster. My mom's computer had suffered from the same thing, but she just removed the antivirus and installed a new one and it is as fast as ever :)

I think your start program is too much,,
Or maybe your main drive(OS), is full, My computer is slow to if it full.
    Maybe you can clean it....
