My PC Freezes So Much!

Hey everyone, I just upgraded to Windows Vista (fresh install, rather).
As I sit here using my computer, everyone 20 minutes or so, it locks up COMPLETELY.
I am listening to my music, and it freezes, sounds like a broken record. The mouse doesn't move, I can't CTRL+ALT+DEL, nothing.
It unfreezes after 10 minutes or so, but then it just happens again later :(

I disabled superfetch, could this be the problem?

Not enough RAM is the problem - at a guess.

I installed Vista only because it's on my desktop. My laptop runs XP, that's where I do most of my business.
I decided to install Vista because it's something new, and I got it for free :D

Anyways, it supports all my hardware and software, and I have 1GB of PC6700 RAM.
I disabled superfetch (the reason Vista is always slow) and now it's really fast, no lag at all.
My only problem is the freezing, I'm just wondering why it's happening.

Well, Vista is really having its own silent problems. We all who face negative feedback should try to share it to all, atleast on this forum. I think you must try to remove vista and then check if things are good for you or not.

I have vista on one of my laptops and my desktop at home... My laptop runs fine with it... Doesn't freeze up, but I still prefer XP over it... But on my Desktop I'm having the same problem as you... Just must be some defect with some of the vista operating systems out there.

I think it may be either a drive conflict, or that my video card is corrupted.
I recall receiving an error about my PCI-Express slot when attempting to install Ubuntu.

It's a custom built PC, only two months old.
I found the problem, it was a corrupted PCI Express slot. I need a new motherboard now.
