My page won't load, only getting redirected to searchportal

A basic noob question here I guess. Sometime since I last put up a page, and I cant quite remember how to get it done.

Ive bought a domain with namecheap, Ive redirected the DNS to my hostgator account. Ive made an addon domain, made an FTP and uploaded the files, but the site still wont show up.

Anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

 

it could be just a propagation issue, sometimes it can take up to 48 hours before a site will show.

and sometimes it only takes 10 minutes. whats the url?

 

Are you sure the domain you're going to is correct? Since it's domain parking, it's probably just taking a while for it to get through the DNS system, as sawz said.

 

Ok what's the URL? If you are getting rediredted to a search portal which one is it?

 

I am have the same problem with hostgator.

Seems like a lot of people are also, just google

searchportal.information.com + hostgator

 

That's weird..I use hostgator and my site showed up right after I purchased..DNS updated really quickly..

Course I have a domain not a parked..so maybe that's the difference.
