Hi, My Page rank was 0 when i started with a new domain and site in jan 2009.Now I got my PR updated by google yesterday with PR=1. But I do not understand the algorithm of PR.
I really don't think anyone completely understands the algorithm of PR. From what I understand, PR is constantly changing, and it's not till we see the update that we know what it is. And even then, what we see is what it is at that time that they updated it. It's fluctuating all the time, but you never see that. Congrats on the PR 1. My site finally jumped to a PR 3 on this recent update.
Hi i just got a domain and i am very new.. I don't have any page rank =0. I just wanna know how many links should i put to become pr1 ..( please give me a approximate answer..) i know nobody knows the algorithm but i think you may have some idea. Thannks kapuva
Well, it really depends on where the backlinks come from. It could take just one backlink if it's coming from, say, a PR 4 site (just an example). There was a graph I saw a while ago that showed the number of backlinks needed for each PR, but I can't seem to find it right now. If i do I'll post it here.
You can find many charts just like this on the internet. I haven't compared any or know how accurate they are, but that should give you a pretty good idea of what you should be shooting for. Fun or not, it's all about the backlinks.
PR is quite useless unless your targeting the required list of anchor texts other wise let's just forget about it and focus more on our websites ranking in the SERP's
They keep the algorithm a secret. Just add backlinks and age and everything and your pr will increase eventually.
It's an interesting diagram but I doubt it's accuracy, after all I've seen PR3 domains with no BLs at all.
Yeah, who knows. One of my sites is a PR 2, and I do nothing to build backlinks. Of course, I do get backlinks to my site from various sources over time. Regardless, it's a mystery that we'll never know.
Yes, I would tend to agree with the fact that it is all about backlinks; the PR value of your backlinks, the quantity of your backlinks and the frequency visitors clicking on your backlinks. I would also add that the relevancy of your site's content with your backlinks may be another factor. That's just my opinion; but who really understands Google PR alogarithm?? LOL!
Some website has PR2 without backlinks like Alan Mater said, and some has PR0 with 55 backlinks. So where is the logic? If PR value of number and quality of backlinks. It is very hard to explain.........
congratulation with your first PR. Just keep get link back from other website to increase the PR.. Good luck..
Thanks BlueBenz! Now all my websites PRO have been linked recently to a PR7 source. I can hardly see the results in 1 or 2 months from now!
I was so happy when I first saw that I was moving from PR0 up to PR1! At least it shows that I'm doing things right. We can't expect to jump overnight; I think Google does all their updates every few months, don't they?
