Hello, I have a page rank of 0 and I'm not sure why. Also, what can I do to raise it, like maybe a 4 and above. I know 10 is the highest...so to get a 7, what would I have to do and for how long. ?
PR0 means you dont have enough high PR backlinks matey - try and build em up.. PM me if you need PR4 links PR aint that important if you are getting good traffic
Well...you need to first understand what it Page Rank and how it can increase.. Google is updating Page Rank in around 3 to 4 months. For increasing page rank you have to do link building. For link building start - directory submissions, article submissions and press relase for your site. You can also buy paid links for your site.
the first thing you need to realize is that PR isn't the end all do all to SEO techniques. Stick around the forum for a while and get some ideas to build on. There really is no magic bullet.
Your site looks like a new forum, pagerank should be the last thing on your mind. Concentrate on getting your community started and you can think about pagerank in 6 months time.

you must get some link from high pr site. if high pr site give link to your site , your site will get high page rank
do what these guys say.. that's what you have to do to get high PR.. but it takes time.. so you need to have a lot of patience
If your site is just up then there are chances that you may not get PR as Google also weighs the age of Domain
There is a big difference between having a toolbar PR of zero and having an actual PR of zero. If you have an actual PR of zero, then your site is either too new for google to know much about it, or you have been banned. However, the toolbar PR doesn't get updated that much, and so you may be showing as zero, when in actual fact you are at a pagerank of 3 (Which by the way is what all new sites out of the google sandbox usually attain) To be ranked anything better then a pagerank 4 or 5, your site not only has to be linked to by authoritative sites, your site also has to be considered authoritative. This takes a little doing.
My site is PR0 too. I'm trying to get a PR2 in 3 months. Not sure whether I could achieve this or not.
Build backlinks in high PR sites. Create an article about your site and submit it to high PR article directories. Create blogs about your website and submit it to high PR blog directories. Do link exchanges, directory submission, etc. Or read this for more: http://www.seobook.com/archives/001792.shtml
Yeah in my research of what keywords I wanted to target I've learned that page rank isn't as important as it seems to new people. Building the text links to your site from relevant high rank sites seems to be the most important. These text links will lead to higher page rank, but it's the text links from these relevant sites that are most important. You can get a bunch of text links from off topic sites to build page rank, but will lose out to people with fewer, more relevant, links, and often lower page ranks. I like to check the top sites for my target keywords and basically copy the things they are doing. By copying I mean the types of links they get, text in those links, but NOT content. I've noticed that Google can tell that you basically paraphrased content, so it's best to research the content subject and put your own spin and opinions into the writing. Now if only Google could do a better job of identifying the original source.
You would need 2 things 1. $$$ and backlinks. 2. Get on your hands and knees and pray to the google gods, everynite. thx malcolm
