Hmm interetsing advice, I got kinda confused whith what you meant but from what I gather from the following posts you mean that. For example if people are finding my site for the keyword "dog" I should go to some dog forums, put a link in my sig then make a few posts?

I think this is good advice and and I do not think I agree that forum signatures are worthless since I am pretty sure they do pass link juice plus they can also throw traffic your way so long as the forum your posting is somewhat relative to your niche. Either that or you make your sig link somewhat interesting enough to get a click here and there.

anyways I'm gonna rep you for the unique advice

Communities and forums are great for participating, not tossing up your link and forgetting about it. Same thing with blogs. If you contribute and become a respected member of the community, however, then those links you post will have more value to you since you'll already be respected and seen as an expert/authority figure, which will help significantly when driving direct and targeted traffic to your Web site.

Furthermore, a lot of forums and blogs use rel="nofollow" on their signature links - and even those that don't won't pass much in the way of PR anyway since there are so many links on a typical forum thread/blog entry competing for that PR in the first place.

I've just looked at my stats and checked the top five search key phrases. I typed each one into Google and found that my dog agility site was listed on the first page of results four out of five times. The top search keyword was "dog" so I typed this into Google and there were 2,100,000 results. I couldn't find my dog agility site. The point is, are we better off with keywords or key phrases? If I wanted to look at websites about dogs I think I'd type something more meaningful than "dog". I'm rambling......I may have lost the plot.

    Sure, with the signature link.

However, I'm trying to convince search engines that my top keywords are not the ones my visitors use, but the ones I've chosen as my best, favorite, and desired keywords that should definitely bring me sales, not trafic. :)

Still, the technique is nice :) Thanks for sharing)

I would say, step 1: Work on your content, Step 2: Work on your content, Step 3: Work on your content. And by working out I mean optimizing it for the semantic standard of new generation search engines, like Google and Yahoo with Latent Semantic Optimization, or LSO. Why bother writing content from the stomach, when there is a pure mathematical way to find out the ideal one that search engines like.
