hi, i am a developer, i have been working with php and joomla for about an year.
i am about to start a little project of mine which is a bit like freelancer.com
so i am stuck in deciding weather i should be writing my own php cms, or i should be using joomla instead, for developing it?
as i have only just one year experience with both. so i think (i may be wrong) that if i work on my php cms i may lack in making it secure. plus it will take a lot of hard work for me if i start from scratch.
where as on the other hand joomla is easy to start the project, but will it help me fully to design what i want to do? and in performance will it be better than my own php cms??
please help me on this. let me know all the merits and demerits of both.
    and suggest a solution.
    thanks in advance

Both has some advantage and disadvantage

But Don't try joomla , for web projects - very less performance and take too much of time to customize

Go for PHP and reuse the joomla security class to your php
