What do you prefer, should i create my own sitemap generater or it's better to check out an available one. Also, if someone can suggest any sitemap generators, thanks.
I am using this php sitemap, View attachment sitemap.php . It will create the xml code. You must insert in google where sitemap is located. Example: http://www.yoursite/sitemap.php every time that google visits sitemap will update. bye
You can try this one, Free Online Sitemap Generator. It can make a standard sitemap file for those major search engines, including google. And if your website has too many pages, you shall download a desktop version here: Desktop Version Sitemap Generator. The developer of this software is from Addme, which are one of the founder of sitemap file system.
GsiteCrawler is a very good sitemap maker. Not only for Google sitemaps, Yahoo sitemap, RoR sitemaps and so on. But only for windows. http://gsitecrawler.com/
I am also using my own (but .NET based) and the really useful part is just the fact that it's always updated. I generate the map when requested by reading from the database (i.e not spidering my own files). It will also give the the feeling of total control, to set for example changefreq to a higher value for certain important categories/articles on your site.
Highly recommended GSiteCrawler. It is the remedy for those limited-to-500-pages online sitemap generators.
AutoMapIt has many filters to keep protected files out of your sitemap. There are many ways to exclude the exact URLs that you need to leave out. Since it works on the web, it doesn't matter which Operating System you use or what kind of server your site is on.
can someone give me some tips, so that i can make a nice dynamic sitemap. i mean what are the things that are needed to make a cool sitemap that works.
What type of CMS are you using? Custom or wordpress? Wordpress for example as some awesome automated programs out there (plugins) that can help out.
Well, I will be happy to recommend my sitemap generator tool Anyways, in general and IMO, making your own tool only makes sense (and only sometimes) if your website is based on some CMS with all pages available in a database.
i can make a sitemap, that dynamically puts the urls, when ever the site is updated. am prefering an html sitemap. can anyone tell me, what are the things that should be there in the site map, apart from links .
