My orkut home page is PR 8 ?

    My orkut profile homepage is PR 8
    I wonder if i can make use of it to get backlinks to my site?
    but doubt whether its backlink will be counted or not as its authenticated area?
    what are your views on this?

    I think you are mistaking the PR of Orkut main page. Profile pages from Orkut can never be of such high PR.

    i think thats not the case. as my scrapbook has PR 4 and main page PR 8.

    Are you sure? that is a nearly impossible true PR for a profile homepage.

    some times Google may distribute PR blindly.

    The PR at your profile page will be of no use since Google is not indexing those pages..

    Its the same for everyone, the profile page. We see our own profile in this link - http://www.orkut.com/Home.aspx
    This is the same for everyone ie for everyone their own progfile page will be show by this link. That is what he is talking about. If you still dont get it pm me.

    Yup me too noticed it myself just now before reading your views. And all scrpabooks have PR 4, Friends page has PR 7 and communities page PR 5.
    Another thing to notice - orkut.com has no PR

    I am now sure that it will not be any use to us.

    Yes my Orkut profile,scrap book have good PR but google is not indexing those pages. When i saw it 2 months back i also placed my blog's link in my profile but all in vain... google is so smart... :-(
