My New Website... To Long to Load?

I just completed the images and layout for my new website. I created it all in photoshop and sliced it. Since the entire page is basically one image, I was just wondering if it is too large of files, or if there is anything I should do to reduce the loading size.

It loads alright for me about 5 sec with a 10mbps cable connection.

 

it loads in about 3 seconds on 15mbps wireless connection....
