My new site, pls comment on design and content

Here is my new site, I just created it, can you all please give me some comments on web design and content? I want some input so I can do some adjustments

The poll is bad inserted.
Bad combination of colors.
The menu is a bit confuse.
But I think that is enough for being your first web page (it is, right?)

 

just fix the colors. its hurts my eyes :þ

 

i think you should have some changes about the header image.
you may use some selection in Photoshop to change color only to your cars and leave backgrounds the same color or grey color.
that's might better.

 

needs some little color tweaking

 

the update looks good man,

maybe the light green overall is a little too dramatic and bad on eyes
but i say leave it for a while and see how ppl react to it , and then tweak ad colors

 

The font in the main horizontal menu is unreadable.

 

I will say your site pretty good designed. Above all , for a first time experience if it is the case.
Although, i would make the background a little bit clear. I would also change the cars pictures place to the middle of your page and the menu links at the top of page.

 

My eyes... ahhhh!
The background on the navigational text could be removed, then it would all follow what ever you change the background too rather than having the slightly darkgreen on black.
Could possibly want a footer of some sort so people with slow download speed know the page is finished loading too.

But hey, it could be alot worse now couldn't it

 

Try to have following Features (design related) in your website.
1. Simple layout, 2. Centered orientation , 3. Design the content, not the page, 4. 3D effects, used sparingly, 5. Soft, neutral background colours, 6. Strong colour, used sparingly, 7. Cute icons, used sparingly, 8. Plenty of whitespace, 9. Nice big text....Rest upto u

 

quality of images on header is low. Left one looks not good at all.

 

The colors are hard on eyes. The categories font is nice, but unreadable. I think you should consider a redesign. Now it looks cheap...

 

The cursive font is hard to read. The blue font on the header image is impossible to read. Little contrast in color. I wouldn't have a URL in the header image.

The poll is awkward.

The links have no hover effects.

The wall of text is a turn off. There needs to be a heading in Big TEXT, that will tell me exactly what this site is about.

The body text has different types & sizes over all pages (I would suggest Veranda for body text)

The main body is centered on some pages and right adjusted on others. The drive green page creates a horizontal scroll bar, might want to check that out.

On the 'Directory Page', the words 'More tips on Solar car' should be aligned horiztonal across the top of the paragraph, not vertical. The color of that text is dark grey, there is little contrast between it and the background.

I would suggest more earth tones. Dark Green, Light Green, Black, Brown, Dark Tan, Light Tan.

The car header sucks bad and the glowish yellow in contrast with the black background just gives me a headache.

 

The colors are way too high of a contrast. Looks very poor in design. I don't want to say any more as it might hurt your feelings.

 

You know, I could go on and on about the colors and fonts - but frankly I think this:
