My new site - Need help

    Hi,

    I just uploaded my new "kosher wine" site.
    Please recommend the best SEO tactics to start with.
    I can't link my site here so I'll just type the name of it: mykosherwine (.com)
    I would also appreciate your opinion for the design.

    Hi,
    I like your site design. It really looks good. Now from SEO prespective, you have already added metadata. Now you can also add keywords in your images with image attribute. Then You can use H1, H2 tags for your headings.

    You can also some added some articles on kocher wines on your homepage or just give a small ebook on kocher wine and insert an opt-in box. that way you can also build your list.

    first of all u need to work on on page optimization like choose right keywords(keyword analysis), optimized meta data creation, h1 and h2 tags, alt tag, customized 404 error page creation, 301 redirect, robots.txt creation, Google site map creation and make ur url search engine friendly.

    After u optimized all the above then u have to go for off page optimization like article submission, press release, forum posting, answer site submission, classified submission, social bookmarking, directory submission, feed submission etc.

    The design is fine if you ask me, nice job!
    You need a longer desciption (use 150-160 charcaters) and a shorter title (60-70-80 characters).

    It's a good idea to validate your code ;)

    I like the restaurant menu design/look...like I'm ordering off of a menu :)

    I would start with onpage optimization. Some people think that onpage is dwarfed by offpage though, and I tend to agree (how else could George Bush get ranked for "failure"?). So, backlinks, backlinks, backlinks. Find relevant sites to yours and start getting them in anchor text (whatever keywords you've chosen).

    I have no idea how important valid HTML is. I've seen sites like thegaryhalbertletter (.com) that are riddled with errors and yet rank well for his chosen keywords and that site. That site also has decent page rank and alexa rank so...again, not sure how important valid HTML is for IM.

    I would recommend you go and read the google webmasters guidelines and also sign up for google webmasters tools to get you started.
