    Hello guys,
I have recently purchased an ASUS W6A laptop.. the one in the pic :)

however, I was disappointed with the audio, since it's mono! both on speakers and headset. May this be a driver problem? The laptop went with windows XP installed with all the drivers set, so I cannot figure out what is the problem.

any hint is really, really appreciated! :D

    Thanks!!

I would try getting the latest sound drivers for it. If its a VIA chipset you might just need the 4-in-1 drivers.

Go into the device manager and see whats listed under the audio devices. Has it worked before?

    Ok..

Go into the control panel and click Sound & Audio Devices, then the Audio tab. Under Audio make sure Realtek is selected for each device and under 'Sound Playback' click the advanced button and here you should be able to change the speaker setup - it might be selected for mono laptop speakers.

The only thing I can suggest at this point is try the latest Realtek Drivers and if that fails or you get stuck I would get on the phone to Tech Support for some answers as why this is happening.
