My new German Forum about weight loss, please review the Style

Hi

I started a new German vBulletin Forum about weight loss and diets a few days ago.

I customized the style (especially the postbit section).

Now I really would like to get some feedback from professionals.

If you have a forum in the same niche, do you have any tips for useful hacks that I might have missed?

Any kind of feedback, new ideas or critique is very welcome

If you have lots of girls on that forum, the pinkish color looks nice (since it's unique). If you got more guys, I would change the colors.

The empty space on the right towards the top could be filled up to make it look better. Also, where do you get your programmers? How much does it cost to run your own forum? I'm interested in knowing the process.

 

Ace looking forum, quality content and a user friendly easy to navigate layout. Pretty good job, gut gemacht!

 

I don't have any programmers, I do the html/css stuff myself.
But you can get programmers or pre made hacks on www.vbulletin.org

Forum software can be free or payed (search the forum, there are hundreds of threads about this!).
I would suggest www.vbulletin.com which is the best in my opinion.
However it costs 160$ for an owned license.

You also need webspace to run the forum.
This could cost you from 3$/month up to ...
depending on what you want to get.

I would change the color. there are a few sites about the meaning of colors in web design. You should have a look.

 

Never thought about this.
In Germany the color does not imply anything special.

I searched for color meanings and purple seems to be nothing that would imply something, that I don't want to.

What exactly do you have in mind?

Nice one.. I am sure there is a portal hack for vbulletin!

It is not something special but it changes the whole front look of your site and lets you have in blocks the latest news/posts static contents etc!

@Dcsboard531: the apple is as the standard fruit a symbol of healthy food which is why so many diet sites use it.

 

Wowwwwwww!!!! Nice visualization. Weight Loss is the hotest topic of the season. Some features on negative calorie diet would make it more appealing.

 

I am working on a produkt that lets you record your weight loss and gives you the option to view your loss as graphical representation.

Is that what you mean, otherwise please explain
