    Well, some services allow pinging, for example www.technorati.com/ping/ - It causes their server to ping your site, ie, visit your site and look for updates and changes. Not all web-services allow pinging and a lot that do do not ping instantly.

    My stats for the first week (started the site last Tuesday):

    visits: 1251

    page views: 3197
