Hi guys, I own a small network of health / education related sites. These sites are all hosted on my hostgator shared businessplan account and linking to eachother. Is this bad for my ranking in google? Thanks!
you can have as many sites as you want on a shared hosting account. unless the sites are all networked/linked together, i do not see any reason to worry. but if you are doing heavy interlinking between all sites to pass pagerank, then you will be in trouble.
Im a lil bit disagree with what sultanofseo said. There is no problem at all for IP, If your goal is SERP/PageRank. Because link is a link, nothings wrong with your backlinking story in a same Server IP. Except you want to expect more result its getting better to move 1-2 site to another Server IP. All the best.
Don't get hung up on it. As long as you're not doing anything against Google's Webmaster Guidelines then you will be fine. There are plenty of legitimate networks out there.
Do you mean to ask for site's PR or ranking in search results? Well, in both the ways you would be on safe side because business plans offer private IPs and i don't think there should be any problem with interlinking of your sites. However you should prefer different hosting if you are serious about ranking.
Thanks for the help guys! Im serious thinking about ranking so im looking for a different host. Any tips?
