Does anyone know what this problem is? My .net host is having trouble when they put me on a newer 2003 .net server. My .asp and .aspx pages break sometimes and they need to reset the server. It has only happened twice so far to my site, but It takes a while for me to notice before I can call in.
Sounds to me like someone is hogging resources. This makes everyone break, not just you. It's up to the host to find the culprit and put a stop to it. Make sure you are using correct coding; that sometimes helps.
Because asp uses an asp engine (not sure this is the right term exactly), and html pages do not. So if someone is hogging the resources, asp is the first to go.
