yes, that's the thing...it is way better to try and get your own writing gigs. That way you can charge what you want and you get 100%!
I'm with you (dlucks and GaryEarle) on that... i'm "too new" to be an ass here, so i figured i'd keep my mouth shut. it gets me into enough trouble as it is. people... PLEASE. If you're going to write (about ANYTHING). First, read "The Elements of Style" (bartelby.com) Then, read "The Economists Style Guide" (economist.com) Then, use a freaking spell checker for chrissakes! You will walk away with so much knowledge your head will explode. (Oh, and Gary... I have to assume you put "doesn't ad up" in there to help make your point?)
I would prefer to get my own gigs via one of the million resources available than to crap shoot articles for a site like this, just my 2 cents.
d0ggy - Thank you for the bartelby.com link! I love the section about words and expressions commonly misused. I'll be doing some extra reading in my free time.
Associated Content does pay upfront for articles, but there's so many that you don't get paid for. You can't do product reviews unless you own the product, sure you could lie and get by with doing a few. You also can't do any news articles unless it's in your personal call's for content section in your account. The bright side is that if they do accept your articles you get paid really quickly. Or at least I have, they pay three times a week and I've always gotten paid the very next pay day after the article was accepted. They review your article and if they want it they send you an offer. You can either refuse or accept the offer, take the offer or rewrite your article and hope for a higher offer. If they don't accept it they will give you the reasons why. They also pay a page view bonus, but it's only $1.50 per 1000 views. After they've published three or so of your articles you don't have to wait for approval to publish more immediately, but you can only do that for page views and no payment on the article. Another thing they always do, if they refuse an article, they always say "Oh, but you can still make money from your article by publishing it for page views"!
If you get rejected on CC, try Dailyarticle. You can post any kind of crap on there and it may sell. You can name your own price too. Like many sites, quality sells better than quantity.
This one is a good experience to share... everybody got to learn, now we learn by your mistake. Thanks.
that's great. i joined constant content and i believe we can earn nice income there. i just haven't get time (and skill) to write articles there...
Hi, You say that you are makign $20/day without joining any site. How is that possible? How do you do it?
Constant content is a waste of valuable time if you ask me! Why put articles on there that have already been used on other websites? Do people not realise that original is always better?
I have had a lot of success with CC over the years (sometimes making over $1,200 within 2 weeks) but it is usually when a regualr client places a bulk order. I just hate writing on anything large if I don't know that it will be bought. Total I have made almost $6,000, but I don't put things on their on a regular basis and only a handful of my articles haven't been sold. BTW - as far as original articles go, many CC buyers buy full rights.
I've pretty much quit buying articles from constant-content. Seems many of the articles which have 'never' been sold have duplicates on the web. Some of the top 'authors' work seem to be all duplicates.
I have about a 100 articles on CC right now, and I have made quite a few dollars there. The standard of writing is very good, much better than the general lot at DP. ( No offense meant, there are some excellent writers and clients on DP too, but sadly, their numbers are reducing.) You do need to be patient when working there, but I have had my articles sell most of the time, some more than twice for usage rights. I have worked for "Private requests" too, and these are good if you can get them, cos the same client keeps ordering articles from you. I have not got the best rates there, but it is a good filler to round out sales each month. I go back there from time to time whenever I have less work, and put up stuff there. It always sells.
That is quite shocking! I have always checked up on my stuff on there, and am pretty sure it is all fair and square. I believe as a client you can get refunds if you bought "full rights" to something and it is already published on the web. The writer in question would be banned.
