Some tools are free and others cost money. Is there any software that you spent money on that you thought.....money well spent would buy it again no questions asked. On the flip side...any software that you regret buying?
I didn't want to read that. I use to use and manipulate quickbooks at my last job about 4 years ago. It was so frustrating not being allowed by quickbooks to build the reports I needed. So I had to do 2 or 3 reports and send them to excel and then rebuild them. Now I just bought quickbooks for myself 2006 pro, I hope it does what I need it to do!
I still have 2003. They are, in essence, forcing me to upgrade by April or I will no longer get payroll updates. I will get 2006 soon. I hope its reporting is a lot better than 2003. And less ads. QB2003 has so many advertisements in it for crappy Intuit products, its irritating.
Subdreamer - It's slow to load on a basic server due to so many images in the themes and it's plugin setup is awful. $120 or so of wasted money I'll never see again
A long time ago I decided to buy some templates off of ebay. I would have been more happy if I paid him $20 and he crapped in a box and sent it to me. Best Software: MaxiVista Conputer controller. Allows you to control multiple computers and spread your desktop across them.
I have found that I can get by just fine with freeware/open source, but ironically my favorite paid app is my OS X FTP client, Transmit. I say ironically because there are so many free FTP clients out there. Anyone know a good FREE image manipulation app for Mac? (simpler than gimp, please)
Worth the money: Macromedia Dreamweaver Adobe Photoshop (buy an old edition for cheap and upgrade to a new one, saves a couple hundred $) Adobe Illustrator (Same thing) Adobe Acrobat (Same Thing) Ulead Gif Animator Waste of Money: Windows XP Pro - Home is just as good for about $100 less (There are only a few situations where Pro is ever needed)
