Well, you'll be one of many, many people doing it, so you'll have a LOT of competition.

The best thing to do is set yourself apart from the others.

Build trust of your hopeful customers by sending your video and literature to trusted reviewers/magazines/websites and maybe they will review it. Do so after first contacting them to see if they'd be interested. Any positive exposure will immediately reach your customer base.

Take a look at P90X and think about how successful Tony Horton has been with it. He had built up tons of referrals and testimonials due to the success of his program. Do you feel that your video can do the same?

First of all, remove the Adsense from the header. It should also be blended into the color and font of the rest of your page.

The page is over-stuffed with keywords.

    Keep working on it.

Well, unfortunately there's not a lot of respect for this type of site, so it would take some creativity to set yourself apart.

I suggest creating, or hire someone to create, various templates for Wordpress, Drupal, VBullitin, etc, and put your link in the footer. Make the templates have an SEO theme, if you can, so when they are used by others they would likely have related backlinks.

Hire or trade with various sites to write up reviews about your service.

    Huh, I'm stumped.

Okay, I have an interesting problem for you. My issue is closing the sale. I have gotten about a thousand of what should be qualified leads (from career coaching and recruiter's websites, from ppc on job sites and search engines, from speaking at job networking groups, from PR, from free software download sites, etc.) The issue is converting them into sales when they arrive. Our conversion rate is horrible, right now. Would love to get your opinion on how to improve it. The product's ecommerce site is:

    http://www.jobhuntexpress.com

It is a very solid product and the professionals (career coaches, recruiters, etc,) all think that it is a great idea and a great product that will really help job seekers. Just can't get the target audience to put their money down and it is only $30 for a perpetual license. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

    • I would change the font/size for your description on the front page. And then clean it up a bit. Separate phone number from paragraph.
    • Add photos of these fun, past events.
    • Press releases.
    • Use a more festive site theme and a more catchy header.
    • Include quotes from past guests.
    • Do lots and lots of local linkbuilding. It could be tough because many sites do not want to link to 'casino' sites.
    • You could do some general linkbuilding to your deeper pages.
    • I see that you're using Google sites for your web site. Make sure to also add yourself to Google Places, if you have a physical location.

Getting a T-Shirt with your site or offer, and paraded around by an easy on the eye model always works a treat :)

My website is a fan website for a sports team, a cricket club called Delhi Daredevils. I don't know whether you know, but India is a cricket crazy nation and offline promotion can work like a charm.
But problem is, i'm not sure what i can do. (I'm a college student, so i'm kind of dependent on cash too)

    Link in sig.
    Thanks

    • Try to get other clubs and sponsors to write articles about your club and/or blacklink to your site.
    • Ask for (from the Daredevils) or buy a few tickets to Delhi Daredevils and have contests.
    • Also, contact manufacturers and see if they would send you free samples or products for prizes.
    • Share news, contests, etc via social networking sites. Especially the really popular ones in India. I'm not sure if Facebook or Twitter are popular there.
    • Join and take part in cricket forums and websites.
    • Submit Press Releases.
    • Try to get interviews with members of the team.
    • Ask other fans to write funny or memorable stories about their experiences with the team, or cricket in general. Share them on your site.

    Thanks a lot.
I was thinking about contests, but we really don't have much of a readerbase yet, so will it still work?
And, yeah, Facebook and Twitter are very popular here.
I'm trying to arrange an interview with a team member, but really don't know how to contact them apart from twitter/facebook.

I think Freeform has made some good suggestions.

IMO, you need to think about how the buying process is going to work.

Is this something where they have a perceived need and then look for a way to get that need filled?

(and, do they already have a way to get that need filled - i.e. an existing supplier you are hoping to supplant?)

Or, is it something that they could be using, but haven't chosen to (or haven't really thought about it)?

The answers to these questions should guide your strategy and will also determine what sort of offer, sales message and marketing methods are most likely to succeed.
