I'm about to email some businesses in my community with a marketing email that is aimed at getting them to switch to my web hosting/services company. I would love it if some people could take a moment and review the text/grammar for me and see if it appeals to them and makes sense. If interested please reply to this thread and I'll PM you the text (if that's allowed). Thanks! -Mike
A couple of things stick out here with your idea. 1. These businesses. Did they opt into a list that you were building where it said "please send me more information about your webhosting services?" If they haven't requested any information from you then you should re-think the idea of sending them unsolicited emails. 2. Did you purchase these names from somewhere? If so, then you'll have a tough time getting them to switch. Your offer will make them feel like they're being sold...and nobody likes to feel like they're being sold something. 3. Did you think about your offer from your customers perspective? Why would someone who has already set up their site online want to tear it down and switch it to a new host? When given a choice between 2 things to do, we'll generally look to choose the path of least resistance. Or in other words the easier of the 2 choices. In this case it would be to stay. If you try to get them to switch based on price then they will only stay with you as long as there isn't a cheaper price that will get them to move again. So think about some of these things before you try and pitch them your offer. Ideally you want them to come looking for you. Offer instead to educate them. "Is your webhost costing you an extra $500 -$1000 in lost sales every month? 5 ways to find out if you're owed money" When they request your information then you can present your offer.
