My Logo makes my website load much slower

    Hello everyone,

I have a wordpress blog with a theme that allows custom headers so I had a designer produce a header logo for me. He sent me a 16kb .png file but if I use it the website loads very slowly. When I get it down it loads fast again so the problem is the logo. Could anyone tell me how to tackle this problem? Is there any specific file type I should use so that the logo is lighter?

    Thanks

use graphic software to reduce the logo size. It might be something else because 16kb logo should not be slowing down your website to a point where it is noticeable. Are you using a simple img src tag to insert the image?

If you are not lazy, you can redraw logos in vector and save it in gif. Vector -> Raster engaged with little space.

P.S. Or "save for web" in menu phoroshop, try different methods from the menu to see a logo I would have helped.

Keep in mind that unless the bandwidth on your server or client machine is extremely low (like dialup), a 16kb file should not have the impact on speed you are noting. If you privde the URL, we may be able to help you more.
