Just wondering.. Is it within the CJ TOS to.. Buy a nice domain name (WITH NO TRADE MARK INFRIDGEMENTS ON ANY COMPANY) URL REDIRECT to the AFFILIATE LINK that the DOMAIN refers to.. Make $?
Say what?! I believe it's per program, not across the board. I've been doing redirects for years and no one has ever said anything to me.
No, it's not a forced click. A forced click is loading a CJ link in a popup or iframe when a visitor visits another site. If they typed in a domain name looking for shoes (let's say you registered ExpensiveShoes.com) and that redirected to your Zappos link, there's no problem with that - you in no way forced them on your ExpensiveShoes.com (which only serves as a redirect). It's the same thing as cloaking a CJ link using a PHP redirect... deals websites & SEMs do it all the time.
I think that you are right as I just read the Publisher Service Agreement and they associates force clicks with pop up use int their text. But I still think that it needs more clarification if it is allowed to register a domain just for forwarding to a affiliate link (maybe is a good idea to ask CJ customer support) - I know that is allowed to redirect keyword link, but still not sure about standard text link.
1. visitor clicks on an ad that takes them directly to the affilate's homepage (thus visitor's computer is cookied) 2. visitor clicks on an ad. takes them to a custom-made page that has links and whatnot to affilate homepage but "forces" a cookie. isn't that the same thing? i mean...#2 at least you're providing a service to the visitor instead of just redirecting them directly to the affilate homepage. if it's against TOS to just redirect to affiliate homepages, then alot of people should get busted as that's all you see really nowadays.
